Clean up user-generated content with one API call
VoxGuard API is a developer-focused profanity detection service powered by the integrated
open-source profanity_php PHP library. Screen chat messages, comments, reviews and
support tickets before they go live — with API keys, request logs, rate limits and a
testing playground built in.
curl -X POST https://your-domain.com/api/v1/check \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-H "X-API-Key: vg_live_XXXXXXXX..." \
-d '{"text": "your message here", "language": "en"}'
How detection works
No external AI service, no per-call fees. The detection engine runs inside this application.
Word & phrase lists
The integrated library ships curated word lists for each supported language, loaded as an in-memory hash table.
Tokenised matching
Your text is cleaned of punctuation, emojis and digits, lowercased, then checked word by word.
Phrase search
Multi-word entries are found with a Boyer-Moore search that treats each word like a character.
JSON verdict
You get a fast, deterministic JSON response with the detection result, language and request metadata.
Everything you need to ship
A complete SaaS backend around a single detection endpoint.
Scoped API keys
Create unlimited named keys with a language scope and expiration (none, 1/7/30/90 days or a custom date). Keys are shown once and stored only as hashes.
Request logs
Every request is recorded with status, duration, language, input length and detection result - never the message content itself.
Rate limiting
Per-key minute and day quotas enforced in MySQL with clear 429 responses and live usage meters in the dashboard.
Testing playground
Send real requests against the live endpoint from the dashboard, with the JSON response, HTTP status and duration shown side by side.
Live dashboard
Traffic, success and failure rates, detection activity and per-key usage - all computed from real MySQL records, not sample data.
Security by default
Hashed keys and passwords, CSRF protection, prepared statements, login throttling, ownership checks and an administrator audit log.
Integrate in minutes
Sign up, create an API key, and call the endpoint from your backend.
Create an account
Sign up with your name, email and password. The dashboard opens immediately.
Generate an API key
Name it, pick a language scope and expiry. The full key is displayed exactly once.
Call the endpoint
Send POST /api/v1/check with your key in the X-API-Key header.
Watch the logs
Inspect every request, debug failures and monitor usage from the dashboard.
Supported languages
Exactly 75 languages are available, generated directly from the installed library's own capability list. No language is advertised that the library does not ship.
